This course requires the purchase of course resources published by Cengage that may include access to an eText or learning platform such as MindTap, WebAssign, or CNOW, among others. To access your course resources, you must purchase a single-semester or year-long access code through Cengage’s website or the MCC Bookstore. If you plan to use financial aid, you must make this purchase through the MCC bookstore. 

Whether you are enrolled in one or more courses this term, you are only required to purchase one Cengage access code per semester. If you expect to enroll in additional courses the following term that use Cengage materials, you may want to consider purchasing a year-long access code to save money. Once you’ve made your purchase, be sure to keep your receipt, email, or card that contains your Cengage access code. Your access code is unique to you and should not be shared with another student. After you’ve made your purchase, please follow the steps below:

1. Navigate to the Cengage login page Cengage’s login page can be found on your receipt or within your Canvas course.
2. Create a Cengage account Follow the appropriate steps to create your account. To avoid confusion, create your Cengage account using your MCC email which ends in @montcalm.edu. 
3. Link your Cengage account to Canvas if prompted Follow the prompts on the screen. You may be asked to link your Cengage account to your Canvas account. This normally only needs to be done once.
4. Enter your access code when prompted When prompted how you would like to access the materials, choose ‘Enter Access Code’. Enter the Cengage access code you received with your purchase and select ‘Register’. 
5. Return to Canvas to access your course materials After you have registered, return to Canvas and use the links provided by your instructor to navigate directly to your eText, assignments, and other course resources within Cengage.
6. Utilize links within Canvas to navigate to your Cengage assignments To avoid confusion accessing course resources (e.g WebAssign) or issues linking your grades, always access Cengage through the links provided by your instructor in your Canvas course.

Although Cengage access codes are available for purchase prior to the Start Date of classes, Cengage courses and materials are not published until the first day of the term. MCC recommends that students wait to register their Cengage account until the first day of classes with their instructor’s assistance or explicit instructions.
